I was 12 years old the first time I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and 13 when I relapsed.
When I was diagnosed, I had just finished Year 7 at school and it was the start of 6 weeks holiday, so I missed all of Year 8 and most of Year 9. I didn’t know what cancer was but when I started to feel ill I knew my life was never going to be the same.
I struggled with the side effects; I was always feeling weak and I wasn’t able to be the same person I was, meaning I lost confidence and friends.
Teens Unite helped with rebuilding my confidence; I was meeting others who knew what I was going through and I started to enjoy life again. We are all amazing and Teens Unite help you to believe in yourself.
